Hidden maximal monotonicity in evolutionary variational-hemivariational inequalities

In this paper, we propose a new methodology to study evolutionary variational-hemivariational inequalities based on the theory of evolution equations governed by maximal monotone operators. More precisely, the proposed approach, based on a hidden maximal monotonicity, is used to explore the well-posedness for a class of evolutionary variational-hemivariational inequalities involving history-dependent operators and related problems with periodic and antiperiodic boundary conditions. The applicability of our theoretical results is illustrated through applications to a fractional evolution inclusion and a dynamic semipermeability problem

Catching-up Algorithm with Approximate Projections for Moreau's Sweeping Processes

In this paper, we develop an enhanced version of the catching-up algorithm for sweeping processes through an appropriate concept of approximate projections. We establish some properties of this notion of approximate projection. Then, under suitable assumptions, we show the convergence of the enhanced catching-up algorithm for prox-regular, subsmooth, and merely closed sets. Finally, we discuss efficient numerical methods for obtaining approximate projections. Our results recover classical existence results in the literature and provide new insight into the numerical simulation of sweeping processes.Comment: 23 page

Monstruos, animalidad y biopolítica en Montacerdos de Cronwell Jara

This article is based on the Peruvian Cronwell Jara’s Montacerdos to investigate the topics of monstrosity and animality, by basing the thoughts mainly on the ideas of Foucault and Agamben. Using biopolitics as a transversal concept, an attempt will be made to identify the characteristics that bind them with monstrosity and animality in the characters of Montacerdos, mainly with Yococo, main character of the story. Starting with him, questions about the category of monster and its relationship with Homo Sacer will be answered, as well as about the boundaries between human and animal. Finally, an attempt will be made to identify the modalities in which biopower acts in the story and what resistance strategies the characters offer.  Este artículo se basa en Montacerdos del peruano Cronwell Jara para indagar los temas de la monstruosidad y la animalidad, basando las reflexiones principalmente en las ideas de Foucault y Agamben. Con la biopolítica como concepto transversal, se intentará identificar los rasgos que la unen con la monstruosidad y la animalidad en los personajes de Montacerdos, principalmente en Yococo, protagonista de la historia. A partir de él, se irán resolviendo preguntas acerca de la categoría de monstruo y su relación con el Homo Sacer, así como acerca de los límites entre lo humano y lo animal. Se intentará, finalmente, identificar las modalidades en las que actúa el biopoder en el relato y qué estrategias de resistencia ofrecen los personajes. &nbsp
